Thairath is a printed daily newspaper company with over 50 years history and has highest circulation in Thailand. About 6 years ago, Thairath had expanded its presence to online channel so that they can be accessible by those who do not read newspapers or use internet as substitution of newspaper. Recently, Thairath has decided to compete in Digital TV industry which is highly competitive and risky. We, thus, were asked to help formulate a 3-year strategic plan for Thairath. In the current situation where printed media industry is in a downturn, online media seems to have a promising future, and DTV is simply a red ocean, our strategies mainly focus on how they should synergistically run their three media businesses in this competitive landscape. Gear Up framework was used to diagnose each of Thairath business to study internal and external environment, and to address where the problems, opportunities and threats are.
